Visiting the beaches of the world has to be one of the most exhilarating things to do. When we take the kids to the beach, I know they love to watch the sunrise or sunset. They also enjoy playing in the sand and chasing each other around. When visiting the West Coast, I know there are some awesome beaches to be enjoyed. South Padre Island, Texas

If you ask me, Texas doesn’t get enough credit for all the awesome beaches they have awaiting us on the West Coast. South Padre Island is amazing in so many ways. Some even say this beach is one of the 7 natural wonders of Texas. The beach is very long and still undeveloped, which is great for those of us who enjoy exploring.

Redondo Beach, California

Almost any beach in California is beautiful, but sometimes you just want a family-friendly beach. And Redondo Beach is that beach! There are tons of water sports for the kids to get involved in, as well as checking out the Seaside Lagoon. They even have a mobile app and you’ll have access to plenty of food and fun, while you hit up this fabulous beach. 

Long Beach, Washington

I mean, who doesn’t want to hit up a beach location known as Long Beach? This fabulous beach in Washington is perfectly perfect for families. Go with the kids to clam dig or to fly a kite. One of our favorite activities, when visiting the beach as a family, is looking for washed-up wildlife. The beach is such an amazing place, especially when it’s kid-friendly.

Butterfly Beach, California

If you’re spending time in California, try to take a trip to Butterfly Beach. It’s a popular destination with the locals, but tourists enjoy all that it offers, too. It’s a great place to visit when you want to hang out on the sand by the water, see different types of flowers, and catch a glimpse of many beautiful butterflies. You can park for free and head over to the beach, where you can walk around or even ride a bike, making it the perfect spot for the entire family.

Seaside, Oregon

Cooldown while in Oregon when visiting Seaside Beach. The family-friendly hot spot is perfect for a day of sunbathing, swimming, and jumping the waves together. You can sit out on the sand while having a picnic with the family. It’s also a dog-friendly beach, so you can feel free to bring your four-legged family member with you. After spending the day in the water, consider heading over to the boardwalk! You’ll find even more fun things to do and see while you’re there.

Zuma Beach, California

When you’re looking forward to having a relaxing beach experience, Zuma Beach in Malibu, California is a fantastic spot to visit. It’s known for its cleanliness! It’s common to see lifeguards hanging around on the beach for additional safety purposes. The water is perfect for standing around, jumping the waves, or even surfing. You might even want to use a boogie board in the water. The slightly secluded beach offers some of the best views, especially as the sun starts to set. Although it can get crowded from time to time, it’s a great spot to go to with the kids!

Rialto Beach, Washington

Found in Washington State, Rialto Beach is the ideal spot to visit when you want to do some tidepooling. Although the water isn’t the greatest for swimming, you can still enjoy stepping foot in the water to cool down on a hot day. You’ll find trails around the beach that you can walk on with the children to experience the nature and scenery of the area firsthand. You can find this beach about four hours away from the city of Seattle. If you’re in or around the area, why not check it out? You won’t be disappointed!

Carmel City Beach

Another beautiful beach found in California, Carmel City Beach is known for its white sand. Not only is the sand beautiful, but it’s also a great spot for you to enjoy a bonfire with the family. You can let the kids roast marshmallows with the perfect view of the ocean water in front of them. Be sure to bring your furry friend with you because this is another dog-friendly beach. If you have to use the bathroom during your visit, you’ll have access to public restrooms that are well-maintained. Spend a full day soaking up the sun and enjoying this clean and cozy kid-friendly beach.
