Top 10 Tips to Make Your Visit to Legoland Resort Smoother
Visiting Legoland Resort in Winter Haven, Florida promises to be a really fun and enjoyable time for your family, but what if someone who is a seasoned pass holder could give you tips on some things to make your day go smoother? Well, here you go!
Top 10 Tips to Make Your Visit to Legoland Resort Smoother
If you have small kids, especially toddler size, start out in the Legoland Resort Duplo area right away
Lego Duplo is designed just for them and they will love it. It has adorable farm themed areas, with animals that look just like their bricks at home do, but huge. There are interactive things for them to do, plus rides, like the train that are right up their alley. You won’t want to try to bring them there later in the day after they may be worn out and needing a nap, so because this is close to the entrance of the park and you will want them to really love it, get it done right away for them, and you.

There are a couple of spaces in there with play areas where they can just run, too, so if you need to save one of them for later in the day to use as incentive, that can be helpful as well.
Definitely see the ski show but do it early or late
There are a few different times for the show and it is facing the lake, since it has ski stunts, but the downside to that is that half of the seating will end up being in the full sun. That sun can be brutal here in Florida and if you don’t get there early to get a higher seat, you will be dying to get out of there way before the show is over. See it either early in the day, or wait until the latest one if it’s not too hot out that day. In the summer time, that heat will literally make you pass out if you’re not careful!
Do miniland early or late
Miniland is in the center of the park and it is easily a highlight of the day, with so many famous landmarks and characters made of bricks, that everyone in your family will thoroughly enjoy it and want to spend a good amount of time checking it all out. There are interactive things at almost all the displays which keeps the kids interested while the adults marvel, but the entire thing is in the hot sun. I would suggest either leaving your last hour or so at the end of the day to view it, or do it fairly early before that afternoon sun is directly overhead.
Plan time for the 4D movies
They have more than one movie playing every day, and all of them are very fun to see, so be sure to plan working them in to your day. The theatre is closer to the front center of the park, so if you are way in the back, it’s a good walk. If you know this ahead of time, it can help you allow enough time to get there. Also, if you are there in summer, definitely see one around 3 to 4 p.m. as that is when it is the hottest out and you will be so glad to sit down and be in the AC for a while. It is also a good way to calm your kids down if they are getting cranky or wound up either one. They will love it.

Book your Legoland Resort tickets ahead of time online to save money
There are constantly deals on entry for the park, as well as coupons that come either in the lego seasonal magazine (which is free to subscribe to) or on those little $4 packets of brick sets you can buy at your favorite store. They normally are pay for an adult admission and get a kid in for free, so they are well worth using. Another tip is that if you are a homeschooling family, they have several homeschool days a month that take a huge amount off the tickets, and you can bring other family members with you at a discount as well. These have to be booked 2 days prior to the date you are visiting.
Make sure you tell your servers about any food allergy issues
This may seem obvious, but being in a family where all of us have a very specific diet, we have been very pleased at how well it is received when we eat there. No matter which restaurant we choose, they have great options and they make sure your food is specifically catered to your needs, so be sure to let them know and ask if they have other options than what is shown on the menu. Don’t feel like you are being a burden to them, they truly are great about it. (Also, tell them if there’s a birthday in your group and they will love on you too!)
Take advantage of the beautiful garden area in the back
There is a lovely, and mostly quiet garden area in the very back of the park, near where the ski show is located, that pays tribute to the old theme park that used to be located there, called Cypress gardens. There is plenty of space for your kids to run, and there are barely ever many people back there at all. You can easily find a quiet, shady spot to sit and take a breather, and it is lovely as well, so it will do you all some good to check it out. Your kids will love the gazebo that’s there and the ladies in the lovely dresses that are made of bricks.
Utilize the Legoland Resort play areas
There are at least 3 play areas for the kids to just have a great time and run around in. One is in Duplo, one is near the castle coaster and it is really a good sized one, and then there is another one in the Adventure section that has a neat, enclosed area with a ball pit that has shooters where the kids can either work on the bottom floor feeding the balls into the machine, or the top floor, shooting them out. It is loud in that one for sure, so if your kids don’t like loud spaces, skip that one, but otherwise they will get a kick out it, and there are benches and places to sit at each one so you can get a break and chill out while they play.
Expect to just find time to let them play with legos
That may seem odd to say, when you are at a theme park, but this is all about the bricks after all. There are numerous spots for the kids, and the adults if they choose, to play and build in. Creativity is the goal there and they want you to play and build. So if your kids seem like they are ready to jump in and do that, let them. You will be able to watch and calmly enjoy that time and not feel like the whole day was spent running to the next ride or show.
Go in the Legoland Resort Hotel after your visit
Whether you are staying at the hotel or not, they are very welcoming and want you to hang out and enjoy the place. The lobby has a great play center for the kids, with seating right beside it for adults to rest and keep an eye out and there is a place to order drinks right there, even with cool kid’s drinks as well. There is also a large area of bricks you can all play in and enjoy, so if you have the time to pay it a visit, they don’t mind you being there at all and it is a really fun space to be in.
