Let’s face it, it’s fall and the perfect time to visit a farm. Am I right? While I was traveling in the New York area, I got the chance to visit Long Acres Farms in Macedon, NY! This farm has it all in terms of enjoying farm life. Here are some activities you and your family can enjoy, while at Long Acres Farm.

Stop by the Farm Market

When I walked into the Farm Market, I could smell nothing but deliciousness. I was amazed to find out all of the different goodies they make, especially around fall. They also have local seasonal produce like sweet corn, squash, apples, and strawberries. They also sell farm fresh fudge, kettle corn, pies, cookies, coffee cakes, and strudels. You’ll also find amazing gifts, seasonal items, and specialty food items.

Ice Cream

One of the best things you can do, while at Long Acres Farm, treat you and the family to The Sweet Cone Shoppe. You’ll find ice cream and ice cream cake from Dar’s Delights! Trust me, the ice cream is delicious and worth every penny!

Fall Treats

During the fall months, you better believe there are tons of fall goodies to enjoy. We’re talking cider donuts, cider slushies, caramel apples, candy apples, pumpkin fudge, pumpkin ice cream, and more! They also have pizza and other yummy foods!

Visit the Courtyard

It’s free to visit the farm, which means you can spend your money on eating all the goodies and buying those fall must-haves! The Courtyard is a fun place to visit and you’ll also find several free activities! Activities like the pirate ship, red tractors, playhouse, giant tires, and more! This is the perfect farm for kids to explore and enjoy the fall weather.

Gemstone Panning

While this isn’t a free activity it is only $5 for a small gemstone bag. Which means you can keep the kids busy for a while. Panning for gems and fossils is something that every kid has to do once in their lifetime!

Amazing Maize Maze

If you and the family like corn mazes, then you need to check out the Amazing Maize Maze!  Only open for a short time period, you get to explore one of the biggest mazes in the world. They have a night with an adults-only maze so I was told, something about wine in the maze. But you have to buy tickets and they sell out fast. 

There is also a children’s maze called the Animal Tracks Maze, which is much smaller and kid appropriate. The kids have to collect animal track rubbings from the posts like seen above. They collect 5 rubbings then compare them to the tracks outside the maze to solve the mystery. I did this maze and it was pretty fun though I did have to backtrack because I missed one! 

Wagon and Cow Train Rides

You better believe Long Acres Farm has wagon and cow train rides. The kids are going to love taking one of these train rides. They take you around the farm you can see the grounds, the vineyard, and even a small pond.

Corn Cannon
If you’re up for it and have the time, the Corn Cannon is a ton of fun!

Of course, Long Acres Farm has different activities throughout the year! They even have an Adult Easter Egg Hunt! If you’re here around that time of year, make sure you check it out. If you’re local, make sure you grab a season pass, so you can enjoy this farm for a longer time period.

JD Wine Cellars

Much to my surprise they also have a winery! People are always enjoying this part of the farm. While at the winery, I was able to try several samples, but two of my favorites were Morning Dew and Blackberry Boogie. I also got to partake in trying a wine slushie, which was amazing. They offer a wine club, which works out for people like me who really love wine!
