If you’re planning on visiting a Disney park this Summer be sure you know the new rules set in place. As of May 1st, Disney Parks ban smoking, vaping and large strollers. Changes also include wet and dry ice, which will no longer be allowed.

These changes go in to effect as of May 1, 2019 and are “intended to provide a more enjoyable experience for everyone who visits by, among other things, easing guest flow and reducing congestion.” according to the announcement on the Disneyland website.

Disney Parks Ban Smoking, Vaping & Large Strollers

No Over-Sized Strollers or Stroller Wagons

To help with congestion and easing the flow, stroller wagons or oversized strollers will no longer be allowed. Starting May 1, 2019 strollers may not be larger than 31” (79cm) wide and 52” (132cm) long.

“Many strollers, including many double jogging strollers, still fit within these guidelines.” the announcement says.

While that may be the case, be sure to check the measurements of any stroller you plan to take or buy before you go. Disney has also mentioned that rentable strollers will be available at the parks.

No Smoking/Vaping

Disney Parks Ban Smoking

Also as of May 1, 2019, Disneyland theme parks, the Esplanade or the Downtown Disney District will be removing all designated smoking areas. The no smoking rule inside parks will also include vaping. Guests will now have to go outside of the park to smoke or vape.

No Loose or Dry Ice

Guests can no longer bring their own wet or dry ice into the parks. Instead, reusable ice packs are recommended. Disney has stated that cups of ice are available for no charge at food and beverage stands.

There seems to mixed emotions about the new policies going into effect. The new stroller guidelines have moms concerned. Some Twitter users agree with the new policies.
