Traveling is always something my soul has longed to do, especially when I get to see places like Chimney Bluffs State Park NY. This park blew my mind! Seeing the bluffs from afar was like a fairy tale, seeing them up close, leaves you speechless! When you find out how these bluffs were made, it makes you want to go study science for a really long time.

Finger Lakes
Something you should know about Chimney Bluffs State Park NY is that it’s connected to Finger Lakes. This region was shaped by gigantic glaciers and today it stands as one of the most beautiful places in the world. Finger Lakes showcases waterfalls, lakes, and beautiful land. Bluff Tail is one of those trails you want to take as often as you can! There is also so much history such as The William Seward House Museum in Auburn NY.
Chimney Bluffs
When you look at Chimney Bluffs, you almost can’t believe your eyes because everything is so beautiful. The science behind the bluffs is quite amazing and one that is beyond my skill level of explaining. However, once you see them, you’ll be able to witness how beautiful the bluffs are. It’s said that the rain, snow, and waves helped to create and carve out these bluffs! Without a doubt, this dramatic landscape will leave you in awe!
There are several places to park and get out and explore. We parked at the Wetland viewing area and walked up to the picnic area on that is right on Lake Ontario. There are benches to sit and watch the lake as well.

I love walking along the shore both to see the bluffs and because of how clear the water is and all the beautiful water rocks on the shore. Remember not to take anything like the rocks from the park!
Activities at the State Park
Just like any other state park, there is so much to do and see. Of course, you can walk around the trails and check out the scenery! There are grills, picnic tables, and endless amounts of scenic views. There are many hiking trails that all have different views of the bluffs.

Camping
If you have it in you, you can also spend time camping at Chimney Bluffs State Park! There is nothing quite like becoming one with nature. Plus, you have some of the best natural landscaping you’ll ever be able to find!
